You will receive twelve filigrees which could be wrapped around a stone to make a lovely feminine setting. These pieces are oxidized copper plated brass and they measure 16mm. Twelve filigrees, as in the first picture, are included. The other items are shown only as examples for the lesson. #R41
The parts shown in the second picture were used to make the earring in the third (front view) and fourth (back view) photos. The filigree needs to extend past the stone you are using so that it will wrap around the sides of the stone and over the top enough to hold it in place. I used a topaz glass opal measuring 12x10mm with the featured filigree.
TIP: Use a piece of aluminum foil to practice finding the correct size before you waste a filigree. They will break if you bend them too sharply or too often. Think of curves instead of sharp angles. Bend them a little and then move forward a little and bend them a little more, not all at once and in one place. Another option is to use a tiny drop of E6000 glue to attach the flat filigree to the bottom of the stone if you like. Let it set for several hours before you try to bend the edges over the top. I used two jump rings at the top and the bottom and then a third jump ring to make the drop from an even point in the center. Other items shown to give you some ideas only and are not included.
